Over the last two weeks, we have been reading the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk”.
We have found various versions of the traditional tale which are all slightly different from each other, with some of the characters having different names, such as “ogre” or “giant”.
We each chose a character to focus on and describe in a writing activity that enabled us to use all the new language we had learnt from the stories.
During our child-initiated time we acted out the story and thought of what props we could create to support our role play activity…
Things like a beanstalk, a golden harp, a character mask…. we got really creative and are going to have a lot of fun performing our version of the story!
