We were delighted to welcome Parents and Carers into school on Friday afternoon to join us for our Coronation Picnic.
We were lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine as we spread across the school field for lunch with our friends and family.
Following our picnic all pupils enjoyed rotating around a range of exciting and creative activities with their grown-ups, all arranged by our Friends of St Lucia’s. Children created celebration bunting, painted plaster of paris keepsakes, made royal crowns and enjoyed outdoor games (Pin the Crown on the King being a firm favourite!).
To finish the afternoon we came together for children to sing some of their favourite songs to Parents and Carers, ably led by our Year 6 pupils. All children received a special commemoration gift, including a Coronation medal, as a keepsake from the Friends.
Overall a wonderful afternoon was had by all!
On Saturday 6th May it was a pleasure to host a Coronation screening and afternoon tea in partnership with St Lucia’s Church.
It was fantastic to be able to welcome members of the local community and school families into school to join us to watch the Coronation together, to take the opportunity to celebrate, and to mark the special occasion.
