Nursery have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We have been learning how each animal represents a Lunar year and how they were chosen through the story of The Great Race. The children had lots of fun discovering which animal they were.

The children explored different activities to support their learning. They created lanterns using red and gold as red is believed to be good luck, they created dragon masks to perform a dragon dance.

The children practiced their fine motor skills by using tweezers to pick up noodles and had a lot of fun creating dragon bubble blowers.

As it is the year of the dragon, we went on a dragon hunt in forest school. What a fantastic way to celebrate the year of the dragon.
