In our Science we have been learning all about rocks. To find out about how the three main types of rocks are formed we experimented with chocolate!
We mixed grated chocolate and put it under pressure to recreate how sedimentary rocks are formed under lots of pressure.
We melted some on hot water as igneous rocks are formed under heat.
Then we made a mix of the two rocks to replicate how metamorphic rocks are formed.
The children had a great time learning about how rocks are made…
and even more fun eating them all afterwards!
